Just a smidgen better

We had some amazing weather here today. It got up to 66 degrees and the sun was shining. FABULOSSO!
Unfortunately, I couldn't go out and play. I stayed in my crate all day while I listened to my sissies baroo at stuff outside.
I will say, my pain meds are helping more now. I was having a tablet every 15 hours or so, but now they last for a full 24 hours. Ahhhh.
Thank you everyone who has checked in with well wishes. Sorry we didn't blog for a long time. After losing Lady, Momma just wasn't in the mood to help me.
Whoofs to you all!

Puzzles Me

I have been working very hard on this puzzle all winter. Now I have completed it. Let me tell you, it's not easy when you do not have thumbs to pick up those little, flat pieces and put them in place. I really despise winter and I don't like it either. It is entirely too cold for a short-haired type like me.I am ready for spring now and whatever it brings. Do you like my puzzle? It is a cowboy and his horse and their covered wagon. I think about the hardships the cowboys and pioneers faced as they crossed the plains heading west so many years ago. I wonder if they had Beagles with them?
Barooooooo to all you good pooches!

Squeeky Deeky

Well, I found my glasses, so we're back in business! They were stuck in my fur and when Mom gave me a bath, we found them. Go figure!

There was a cool dog CD in the paper here in town the other day. The newspaper did a story about happy dogs songs. Take a listen to this song called Squeeky Deeky. You'll have to go to that page, then click on the link to the Squeeky Deeky song. But you better do it soon. They only leave things on for a few days.

When we heard it, Bella ran and got the snowman squeeky. We love this song! Maybe Momma will buy the CD for us.

It got nice and warm here today. We tied the all-time high record. It was great! Momma went in the yard and cleaned up our stuff since it thawed out. We can't figure out why she wants a collection of that stuff. Ick.

Take care everyone. We luv our DWB frens!

Missing: Wire-Rimmed Glasses

We just wanted to check in and let everyone know that we're still here. Eddie lost his glasses and he types for us. Momma is typing for us right now.
We will post again when Eddie finds his glasses. Here's a picture of him in them that we took back at Christmas. If you see them somewhere, let us know!

15 Inch Beagle "UNO" Takes Westminster!

Isn't he hamsome! Oh, my dogness.
I, Peaches, think I'm in love.
But, he is a big star and surely wouldn't have anything to do with little ol' me from the river bluffs of Missouri.

BArooooo! To you, too, UNO! You should be so proud! We are very proud to have a BEAGLE win the Westminster.Look at him eat. Wow. Right off a silver platter. He's my kind of guy.
I think I'll have sweet dreams of him tonight. baROOOOOOOO!

Thank you, Jazz & Dixie for the award. We are so appreciative.
BarOOOOOO000,
Peaches.

Our new friend Snoutbeagle gave us a thinker award! We are so honored it made us BArooooOOOO! It made Peaches blush.Bella says, "Who us?" We think Diesel must've seen our Poppa's bumper sticker that says, "My beagle is smarter than your honor student." Hah! Not really. Diesel says he awarded us the award cuz of our link to BREW, Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare, an organization to find forever homes for discarded beagles and help educate their new families about caring for them. Diesel was adopted from BREW!

Here are the rules attached to the Thinking Blogger Award:

1. You must write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think. (No squirrel or cat blogs, they'll just make you hungry.)
2. Acknowledge and link to this post.
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.
4. Tell your humans to fork over the treats

We are awarding this award (is that redundant?) to Tatum Tot, a real thinker pup who is going to school, Abby of Abby & Sophie because Abby went to puppy school, agility beagle Xsara because she does lots of learnin' to do all that obstacle stuff so well, Camry the Guide Dog Puppy because, well, need we explain??? And last but most definately not least, Mitch of Maggie & Mitch. We remember how hard he worked last fall learning to climb the stairs. He is such a smart boy!

We chose these thinking doggies because their peoples believe in getting them an education. Its the only way for a dog to get ahead these days. Otherwise, if people and their pups don't learn how to communicate, everyone just gets mad, and lots of doggies end up in shelters.

Me (Eddie), Lady and Bella were rescues. Luckily our new Momma and Poppa learned how to communicate with us so we can all get along better. Peaches has just been a spoiled rotten brat child since birth. Its pathetic.
BTW, No pics of me tonight. Momma just attacked me with the clippers and cut all my hair off. I'm going to have to put on my blue cammo fleece suit that Butchy & Snickers' Momma made me to stay warm!

Momma's Helpers

We're bored. There's just not much to do. The snow is melting and the yard is icky (says Momma) so we can't go out cuz we will just make tracks in the house. Hmmmph.

So, me and Bella decided to help Momma do the dishes. Mmmm. Its a fun thing. There was some really good stuff on the cutting board. Here I am 'prewashing' it for Momma. Hee Hee!

Have a great week all!

Phantom Photos

Who knows what happened on the last post to the pictures! You just can't trust paws. The pads are too close together to hit the right keys, things get posted before you want them to be. It can be very frustrating. Hoomans do NOT know how good they have it with those opposomable thumbs.

This brings up a question. What would YOU do if you had opposable thumbs? Hmmm?
Peaches: Obviously I would open the fridge and start EATING!
Bella: Throw my own toys, then join Peaches at the fridge.
Eddie: Nothing. I'm happy the way I am, thank you.
Lady: Huh. Did somedoggy say something?

We challenge Sherman, Penny & Lola, Butchy & Snickers, and Snowball to tell us what they would do if they had opposable thumbs.

Can't wait to hear, guys!

The Digger is Back!

Here we are, me and Bella back at the window. The Digger is back.

The Digger came back today and started digging up more of our yard and part of the street in front of our yard. Poppa took pitchurs of it so we could show you what it looks like. We think they're planting new pipes in the yard. We just don't know why. Sometimes hoomans do things we just can't understand.

As you can see, the Digger is really big. It is chewing up our yard.

Can you see the baby tree in our yard? Momma is very worried they are going to hurt her baby tree. The tree is a very special one to Momma. She moved from the farm where she lived for 22 years and brought that baby tree with her and planted it here. She doesn't want anything to happen to it.

But, the digger machine just goes on about its business. It didn't care that there is a foot of snow and ice. It just chewed through all that and through the concrete street, too!

Of course, we had to bark a sufficient amount. But once we knew we had taught them where the boundaries were, we let them go on about their business in peace... With a reminder every now and then.
Have a great day all!

Award

Our pawsome Beagley friends Jazz and Dixie gave us this award. Thank you so much!

We would like to paw it forward to our friends JB the Cat, and Butchy & Snickers.

We're gonna keep it short for tonight cuz Momma is feeling a little under-the weather. That's what she says. We don't know what that means cuz aren't we all under the weather since the weather comes from the sky and its above us???
Oh well, till later, Whoofs & Baroos,

Diggers

Oh my. There are diggers outside in our yard. Men are driving them around, digging up our outside-the-fence yard. They have dug up a big pipe. Hmmm. This has been a big concern today.
We have monitored them quite closely. You never do know what they might do. We must keep them out of our inside-the-fence yard and out of our DOG HOUSE! We have barked at them from inside the house and sometimes we go outside when they get too close to our fence and we bark right at them. Obviously we are effective since they have not breached the border yet.

Eddie, come help us. EDDIE!!!!!!!!

Bella is still on duty while I take a break to blog about this. We cannot rest you know!

We think Momma should give us extra yummies tonight since we've worked extra hard. Don't you? Hee Hee Hee. :->

Back from Grammies, Tag 7, Autumn Leaves

Hi, Everyone! Our Momma's home so we can blog now. :-> We had fun raking leaves, uh, okay, playing while Momma raked leaves. Watch...

Bella in the Leaves

Eddie in the Leaves

Grammy is doing really good with her new knee. She is home from the hospital and walks around her house. But Momma sez she walks around really slowly. Our cousin Ricky is guarding her and lays right by her all the time. He's such a good caretaker. We were wondering if we took all our stuffies to this same hospital if they could give them new stuffings and stich em shut like they did Grammy's knee. Momma sez no.

We were asked to post a picture of Lady's tail, too. We posted the rest of our tails a couple weeks ago. Here's lady's little tail. Its kind of a 2/3 tail. She does more of a flicka-flicka-flicka with it than wagging it.Lady's Tail

Our Key West Collie friends tagged us for Tag 7. Ears the rules...

Here are the rules for Tag 7:

* Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog
* Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself
* Tag 7 random people at the end of your post & include links to their blogs
* Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Hmmm. Seven weird facts about us. We will try.
1 - I, Eddie, am a Beagle x Westie cross so Momma and Poppa call me a Beastie.
2 - Peaches looks smaller than Bella, but is actually a half inch taller when they're standing side-by-side.
3 - Peaches likes lettuce. Okay, the rest of us like carrots, apples, green beans, stuff like that. But LETTUCE! Pleeeze!

4 - I, Eddie, am 4 years old, Peaches is 2, Bella is 1. When you add those up you get 7 which is the 2nd digit in Lady's age: 17! Its dogmath. That's difrent than new math. You have to use all your paws and some whiskurs.
5 - Me and Poppa are the only 2 guys in the house. We are surrounded by girls: Momma, Peaches, Bella and Lady.
6 - I, Eddie, Like wearing clothes, but not costumes for Howl-o-ween.
7 - Last but not the least, Peaches hates car rides. I think this is totally funny. Me, Bella & Lady LOVE car rides. We beg to go along. Peaches runs when she sees coats going on and keys being picked up. What is up with that? Hmmm?

We haven't got to catch up on blogs lately so some of you might have already been tagged. If you have, nevermind. We tag Butchy & Snickers, Gus, Kathryn & Pippa, Frazier, The Secret Schnoodles, Abbey & Sophia, and Randy. We will get caught up with all of your blogs and more real soon.

Pooches smooches to you all!
Eddie.

Tales of Tails

We just loved the Secret Schnoodles' blog about their tails! What fun. So we thought we'd blog about ours!

Here's Bella's tail! Its kinda blurry because its always moving..... fast!

Tried again. Its still blurry. Well, that's what you get with a beagle with a happy tail!

A Two-Fur one. Momma got me and Peaches together.

See Peaches heart on her butt? Momma sometimes calls her "My little valentine." How mushy. Can you say "Awwwww"?

Let's see your tails!

Thank you, Kind Friends

Bella Noodling in Poppa's Lap for Comfort

We thank you for all your kind encouragement during our time of sadness. The DWB community is so supportive.

Momma is going tomorrow to visit Casey. She promises to take pictures to post on the blog. Her family said she passed the ultimate 'kid' test yesterday. One of her kid-brothers pried her mouth open and tried to tickle her tonsils and she didn't fuss one bit. What a good girl she was.

The family has used the episode as a learning tool for the young child of how NOT to treat the dog. Casey has used the episode as a learning tool of when to stay away from the child.Peaches in mourning for her niece.

We're still sad, but moving along now.

I think I smiled real pretty in this one, didn't I?

Here's another one with me sitting behind my diploma. Don't I look smarter now? I can't wait to go to our play class where we learn how to play games in tunnels and climb over stuff. How fun. Last, but not least, here's a picture of me and Momma. I luv Momma. I luv to give her kisses, but she's not always as happy about it as me. Hmm? Why would that be?

On The Grill

Momma sez Poppa is the best cooker on the outdoor grill of anybody, EVER. Today they went to the store where you get people food and got some really extra good people food: STEAKS! Mmmmmm.

We stood by Poppa in case he dropped anything so we could help clean it up. We wouldn't want Momma to get mad at him for making a mess on the patio. We also sat close by while they ate in case anything fell to the floor of the deck. We can't have a messy deck, ya know?
Here's the plate of scraps from the steaks. Mmmmmm. That was our reward for so diligently waiting to clean the floor.

We're all waiting patiently... for a while for our scraps while Momma fixes our dishes. Then it starts getting ugly. Look at Peaches face! She sez, "Feed me now or I'll put a Beagle Hex on you!"

Yep, Poppa's the best griller we've ever met! Gotta go nap it off now. Aaaaaah.
Pooches Smooches to yall. Hope ya had a great weekend.

Howdy!

We haven't got any pictures to post, but wanted to check in. Short but sweet. Kind of like beagles! Tee hee!

We have been gone camping. We met up with our German Shepherd cousins Carlie & Rance. They're lots of fun. I think Momma has some pictures, but hasn't got them put on the computer yet.

We're only home for a couple days, then we're going camping again. Poppa has to work out of town, so we're making a camping trip out of it. Woo Hoo!

Bella has graduation tomorrow night. I wonder if she will wear a cap and gown? Hmm. Momma has already signed Bella up for another class. Its called "Agility for Fun." We think she will be really good at it since she can jump up on kitchen tables and other big stuff. She's fearless. She will do anything!

Take care pups & GG.
