Our new friend Snoutbeagle gave us a thinker award! We are so honored it made us BArooooOOOO! It made Peaches blush.Bella says, "Who us?" We think Diesel must've seen our Poppa's bumper sticker that says, "My beagle is smarter than your honor student." Hah! Not really. Diesel says he awarded us the award cuz of our link to BREW, Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare, an organization to find forever homes for discarded beagles and help educate their new families about caring for them. Diesel was adopted from BREW!

Here are the rules attached to the Thinking Blogger Award:

1. You must write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think. (No squirrel or cat blogs, they'll just make you hungry.)
2. Acknowledge and link to this post.
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.
4. Tell your humans to fork over the treats

We are awarding this award (is that redundant?) to Tatum Tot, a real thinker pup who is going to school, Abby of Abby & Sophie because Abby went to puppy school, agility beagle Xsara because she does lots of learnin' to do all that obstacle stuff so well, Camry the Guide Dog Puppy because, well, need we explain??? And last but most definately not least, Mitch of Maggie & Mitch. We remember how hard he worked last fall learning to climb the stairs. He is such a smart boy!

We chose these thinking doggies because their peoples believe in getting them an education. Its the only way for a dog to get ahead these days. Otherwise, if people and their pups don't learn how to communicate, everyone just gets mad, and lots of doggies end up in shelters.

Me (Eddie), Lady and Bella were rescues. Luckily our new Momma and Poppa learned how to communicate with us so we can all get along better. Peaches has just been a spoiled rotten brat child since birth. Its pathetic.
BTW, No pics of me tonight. Momma just attacked me with the clippers and cut all my hair off. I'm going to have to put on my blue cammo fleece suit that Butchy & Snickers' Momma made me to stay warm!

Whoofs & Baroos,
Eddie

Momma's Helpers

We're bored. There's just not much to do. The snow is melting and the yard is icky (says Momma) so we can't go out cuz we will just make tracks in the house. Hmmmph.

So, me and Bella decided to help Momma do the dishes. Mmmm. Its a fun thing. There was some really good stuff on the cutting board. Here I am 'prewashing' it for Momma. Hee Hee!

Have a great week all!

Back from Grammies, Tag 7, Autumn Leaves

Hi, Everyone! Our Momma's home so we can blog now. :-> We had fun raking leaves, uh, okay, playing while Momma raked leaves. Watch...

Bella in the Leaves

Eddie in the Leaves

Grammy is doing really good with her new knee. She is home from the hospital and walks around her house. But Momma sez she walks around really slowly. Our cousin Ricky is guarding her and lays right by her all the time. He's such a good caretaker. We were wondering if we took all our stuffies to this same hospital if they could give them new stuffings and stich em shut like they did Grammy's knee. Momma sez no.

We were asked to post a picture of Lady's tail, too. We posted the rest of our tails a couple weeks ago. Here's lady's little tail. Its kind of a 2/3 tail. She does more of a flicka-flicka-flicka with it than wagging it.Lady's Tail

Our Key West Collie friends tagged us for Tag 7. Ears the rules...

Here are the rules for Tag 7:

* Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog
* Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself
* Tag 7 random people at the end of your post & include links to their blogs
* Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Hmmm. Seven weird facts about us. We will try.
1 - I, Eddie, am a Beagle x Westie cross so Momma and Poppa call me a Beastie.
2 - Peaches looks smaller than Bella, but is actually a half inch taller when they're standing side-by-side.
3 - Peaches likes lettuce. Okay, the rest of us like carrots, apples, green beans, stuff like that. But LETTUCE! Pleeeze!

4 - I, Eddie, am 4 years old, Peaches is 2, Bella is 1. When you add those up you get 7 which is the 2nd digit in Lady's age: 17! Its dogmath. That's difrent than new math. You have to use all your paws and some whiskurs.
5 - Me and Poppa are the only 2 guys in the house. We are surrounded by girls: Momma, Peaches, Bella and Lady.
6 - I, Eddie, Like wearing clothes, but not costumes for Howl-o-ween.
7 - Last but not the least, Peaches hates car rides. I think this is totally funny. Me, Bella & Lady LOVE car rides. We beg to go along. Peaches runs when she sees coats going on and keys being picked up. What is up with that? Hmmm?

We haven't got to catch up on blogs lately so some of you might have already been tagged. If you have, nevermind. We tag Butchy & Snickers, Gus, Kathryn & Pippa, Frazier, The Secret Schnoodles, Abbey & Sophia, and Randy. We will get caught up with all of your blogs and more real soon.

Pooches smooches to you all!
Eddie.

Howl-O-Ween

Okay, we know its late to do this, but Momma did dress Bella and Peaches up for the howl-o-ween photo contest at work. I, Eddie, refused! It was simply beneath me! What kind of self-respecting Beastie (Beagle x Westie) would be caught dressing up for howl-o-ween! I mean!Fairy PeachesCountry Hound aka: Farmer Dog

Anyway, Neither of them won the contest. A little chihuahua from work (who signed our guestbook) won it dressed up as a little devil.

Clothes should be functional! Not just to make us look silly! Right?

Catching up on news and pics

So, here we are, only 9 days since we posted last! Oh my. Butchy and Snickers, our mentors, must be so ashamed of us. But, we've been busy little beagles. We've been camping, and going to classes, and taking lots of walks...

Here we are at our cousin's place . The big black German Shepherd is Carlie. You can kind of see her brother, Rance behind her and the tree. We had lots of fun together. It was like our own private dog park.
Here's the campsite with all us mutts milling around. So nice!

Here's a better picture of Carlie Bear. You notice that her right ear is lopped off. She was rescued in Chicago from a place where someone had LOTS of dogs. Most of them were starving to death. Carlie had been a breeder dog. When the ASPCA and police came in and busted the place, Carlie was nearly dead. She has had many surgeries to bring her back to good health. Today she is happy and we love to play with her. We're glad that some good hoomans came in and saved her and the rest of the doggies there.
We couldn't find any good pictures of Rance from the camping trip, so we dug into our old files and found this one from when he visited our house last year. Rance was a leader-dog puppy. Our auntie raised him for the Leader Dog people, but when he was old enough to go back and be someone's helper dog, he x-rayed with elbow displaysia. So, he washed out of the program and Auntie got first dibs on adopting him since she had raised him. They are living happily ever after. Only problem with Rance is that he thinks he is "Prince Rance". Hmmmph.
We took walks on the trails. Lots to sniff down there, ya know. Deer, turkeys, bunnies, squirrels, turdles (yes, we mean turdles... Our special name for those hard-shelled creatures).
When we got home, we were all tuckered out. Here's Peaches on her favorite blankie getting some rest.
On our camping trip last weekend, we went to Nebraska. We got stuck behind this really cool truck that Poppa called a tractor. Whatever! It was cool and we told the driver so when we finally got to pass him.
Across from our campsite in Nebraska was a pond and these geese kept teasing us. They would come over by us, then turn around and laugh and waddle away. They KNEW we couldn't get to them. Grrrrr.
Then, we saw this really cool tree with a wart on its side. The tree is really tall and the wart is really big. Its about as big as 4 or 5 Rotties all piled up on top of each other.

We heard Momma and Poppa saying camping season is going to end soon. We sure will miss camping over the winter. Maybe we can go once or twice before they put away the camper. We're keeping our paws and tails crossed.

Bella graduated. Momma forgot the camera! But, she promises to take a picture of Bella sitting nicely with her certificate. We'll post it later.
Well, I think that catches us up.
Later doggles & GG,
Eddie

Bella & Babies Have Guests

Hah! Mom took a picture of Lady and Bella peeking out from the privacy fence when she got home today. Aren't they funny!

Bella's foster-Mom came to see her and the babies this morning. When Bella's former family dumped her, it was at this ladies house. She fed her and took care of her, tried to find her family, but ended up letting her go because she could not keep her. That's where we came in. We adopted her from the shelter where foster-Mom had taken Bella.

Foster-Mom was glad to see the babies, and that Bella is doing well. She brought her a present - some packets of her favorite food, and a puppy-feeding tray that has a hump in the middle. She says it keeps all the food to the outside edge and helps to keep the puppies from ending up walking through their food. How nice of her to think of Bella and the babies so kindly.

Foster-Mom even brought her own kids, a trio of beautiful Golden Retrievers. I think Bella remembered them. She definately remembered Foster-Mom and gave her lots of kisses.

Foster-Mom agrees with my Mom and Dad that the babies might very possibly be half labrador. She says their heads look like golden retriever heads when they're puppies. Hmm. Does that make them "Labradeagles" or "Beagrador Retriever Hounds"?

The new clippers came today. Mom has already started clipping me. She did part of it tonight (knocking off the big stuff). She says we'll finish tomorrow and have a bath after. The new clippers sure do work a lot better. They buzzed right through my thick cottony white hair. Ahhhhh. I actually feel better getting that carpet of hair off my back.

Enjoy the pictures. See ya'll later.
