Somthin' to Baroooo about

Tonight a little baby birdie was in our yard, OUTSIDE the fence. Here's a picture of it.

And here's a picture of us being crazy trying to get it. The camera flash made our eyes glow. Doesn't it look creepy!

We are crazily trying to get out of the fence to get the baby bird. Bella almost fits through. We're glad we fattened her up a little bit. Although, she is still pretty thin. I, Eddie got kind of bored with the whole thing. It became obvious that we were NOT going to be able to get to the bird. And if we did, there wasn't enough of it for all 3 of us.
Then, Momma tells us there is a full-grown rabbit in the yard just 30 feet away from the baby bird. We think she's kidding us. We surely wouldn't have missed that. We're Beagles after all!

Middle name game - Bella & Peaches

My middle name is "Mae." Very short and simple. For the rules, see Eddie's middle name game down there \/ in Eddie's middle name game post.

Anyhoo,

M stands for MORE! After I'm done eating, I want MORE, MORE, MORE!
A stands for ALL! Give me all you have!
E stands for EVERYTHING! I want EVERYTHING you can give me. I've been a hungry abandoned street urchin and I want to be sure I get fed PLENTY!

There 'tis folks.
Tags, I'll will stick with Eddie's tags.

Okay, I guess its my turn. My middle name is Marie. Sweet Peaches Marie is me. Tee Hee!

M is for More! I always want more, too. I beg all the time.
A is for Affectionate. I love to give snuggles and kisses.
R is for Rowdy. Have you seen the video in our post a while back. You see how rowdy I can get!
I is for Imperfections, of which I have few.
E is for elegant. I am the most elegant Beagle you will ever meet. I even have dainty feet.

Tee hee! I made a rhyme. Baroooooo.

The Middle Name Game

Putter tagged me, Eddie, to play the middle name game so here goes:

1. Post the rules before you give the facts. (Listen up Pups, these are the Rules!!)

2. List one fact that is somehow relevant to you and your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. When you are tagged you need to write your post using your middle name and facts about it.

4. At the end of your post choose one dog to tag for each letter of your middle name. Be sure to let each puppy know she/he has been tagged. (It’s ok if you don’t do this, just tag who you want to tag!).

I am embarrassed to tell my middle name, but I suppose I must so that I don't seem like a kill-joy. I also don't like my middle name, because it is only used when I am in trouble. Knowing that, here you are....

E - Everlasting. Momma sez I can never leave this world or she would be crushed. So I have to be everlasting

U - Unmatched. There has never been and will never ever be another quite like me.

G - Generous. I believe in giving. I give hugs and licks to people whether they ask or not!

E - Ebullient. I get so excited about things. Like car rides, tennis balls, camping. I put a picture of me on a car ride at the top so you can see just how ebullient I get. Momma taught me this new word (ebullient). I think I like it. Can you tell? Hee Hee.

N - Nonstop. I'm on duty 24/7. Watching over my family dutifully.

E - Even. Steady-Eddie is one of my nicknames. I'm level-headed, well, except when I get ebullient about car rides, tennis balls, or camping. Oh, or my hedgehog, or my Duckie, or a squirrel, or...

According to the rules, I have to tag 6 of my doggie friends. Hmmm. I will tag Herbie, Randi, Bella (not my Bella, the other one), sexy diva dog Lola, the perfectest Collie ever Perfect Tosca, and last but never never least our blogging mentors Butchy and Snickers.

Whoofs to all. Can't wait to read your blogs!

Adding Bella!

Hi, ya'll. Bella here! Eddie & Peaches have agreed to let me blog with them. I've been looking over their shoulder at the computer for quite some time now and I think I have it figgerred out. Ya jus punch on them there buttons and move that little artifishill mousey thingy around and wah-lah! You got yerself a blog! Hah. So easy even a squirrel could do it. I aint seen too many computers in trees, though, so I doubt it'll happen. Squirrel blogs, I mean.

Anyhoo, I wanted to tell ya'll about a cricket I befriended yesterday.
It showed up in our fam'ly room. I chased it around a bit. Then things got kinda rowdy and, well, lets just say he lost one of his hoppin legs. After a while I think he got tired cuz he didn't git up no more. Oh well.
So, me and Momma and Poppa went to class tonight. Eddie N Peaches make fun of me, but the jokes on them, cuz I git lots of paw-lickin-good treats for following instructions. Mmmmm. Here's me coming when called, very promptly and I got a tasty treat when I got there.

This is my classmate, Shazzia. Sorry, Shaz if I spelt yur name wrong. We wasn't sure on that. We think yur real cute, though. And darn it. We're all in this together, right!

Then, remember how we told ya before about the Joe Stains dog. Well here he is! Walter the Wonder Dog. He's doin' a great job. His Momma might not think so, but we know he is.

Now there it is. All wrapped up with a bow. My first blog!
Take care ya'll. And, like Eddie sez,
Be good to each other. We all need a friend.

Bella

Bathtime

Momma ambushed us today! First I, Eddie, got shaved and a bath. No warning. Just here we go. OMD it was a shocker! Here I am recovering from the incident. I am so embarrassed. Now all my spots are showing! I'd rather be fluffy and all white.

Next, Bella, then Peaches. You can see how happy she is! The whole experience was just disgusting!

Momma sez we have to have baths today so she can put our flea drops on our shoulders tomorrow. Whatever! We think she just has an urge now and then to torture sweet little doggies like us.

Stormy Days

We have had some bad storms here lately. Lady is terrified of the thunder and has kept everyone up through the night last night. She gets all panicky like, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"She is scared and can't settle down. Daddy cuddles her and tries to console her, but mostly she still worried about the storm. She couldn't even sit still long enough for us to take a good picture of her! Poor Sissie Lady.

This is the view off our front porch. We took this picture in the afternoon when it should be bright outside. You can see how dark it is.

We heard the sirens go off, so I, Eddie, checked it out. They sound the sirens when there is danger of a tornado and you should seek shelter.

But, Momma made us all go downstairs to the basement in case we really had a tornado. So here we are all hiding out downstairs. Luckily we have a family room in the basement where we can watch T.V., blog, and just generally lay around while we are safe from tornadoes.

As you can see, Lady is MUCH happier hiding in the basement where the thunder isn't as loud, and we are safe from the tornadoes.
We hope ToTo and Dorothy make it to Auntie Em's before the twister hits!

While we're hanging around doing nothing, Tosca has made a fun mass-tag for laughs.

So, to answer Tosca's joke: How would your breed change a lightbulb? A Beagle would sniff around all over the ground trying to find the lightbulb first. Once we caught its scent, our flag-tails would go up and we would whine and Barooooooo like someone was pulling our ears off until the hunters on horseback came and changed the lightbulb. Then we would trot back home very proud of our accomplishment with our tongues hanging out.

Eddie & Bella Visit The Bank

One of our DWB friends showed us their bank the other day, so we thought we'd show everydog and GG ours.
See the nice lady in the window waving at Bella. She asked us "Do you want treats?" Well Duh! Do you think we come here because we have money!
We are anxiously waiting for the magic treat cylinder to come shooting out of the tube. We love our bank. They're nice people. They just ask dumb questions.

Peaches doesn't come to the bank with us because car rides make her barff. The only car rides she takes are when we go camping (she gets medicine before we leave for her tummy) and to go to the dogter.

Have a great weekend. Be nice to each other. We all need a good friend.

Stuffies Get a Bath, Begging for Popcorn

Yesterday Momma decided that our stuffies needed a bath.
We had dragged some of them outside after a big rainshower and they got really muddy. Here they are hanging up on the line after their bath.

We tried, but we just couldn't reach 'em. We need one of the really tall dogs to come pluck 'em off the line. Hee Hee.Tonight we begged for popcorn. Don't we look convincing? We must, because it worked.

We ate so much, we had to have a nap after.
I, Eddie, napped with my favorite stuffie, Hedgehog. He didn't get muddie. I take good care of Hedgehog..... Till I am ready to start tearing him apart. Hah!

Bella's class is going good. She has learned lots of worthless stuff. Like how to sit, walk on a leash, stay put when told. She is getting so brainwashed. Poor thing.

Till next time, Love each other.

Camping Report at Last

Hi, All. We can't figure out why there is an underline under our typing. Just being dogs, it is beyond our body of knowledge.

So, Oh, okay. The line went away! Well, anyway, as you can see, I was helping Dad find the campground. I took my car riding medication before we left home, so I was feelin' fine about the trip. I love camping, I just don't love getting there!

Here is me and Bella waiting for Dad to come back from checking us in at the campground. WHAT TOOK HIM SO LONG, we don't know. We were ready to get OUT of the truck and smell the new place. So, there... Oh my, the line is back! Sorry. Anyway, here's me and Bella watching Momma and Poppa set up camp. IE: Back the camper up and plug it in so we have air conditioning. Life is hard.
Here's the... Oh, I give up! Line is gone now. Who knows! Maybe my fat pawpads are hitting some button??? Anyway, as I was baying, here's the view from our campsite. We were at Pawnee State Rec Area near Lincoln, Nebraska. Anyone from there? Its a really nice campground and park.

So, the next morning, our whole family went for a walk down the trail to the lake. Here's Bella checking it out. We couldn't get in to swim because they had something they called Toxic Blue-Green Algae. Yuck!

We were feelin pretty frisky and decided to wrastle, but Momma and Poppa said no. Not while we were on leash. We said, okay, let us off the leashes, but they said it wasn't allowed, and they didn't trust us. Something about park rules, and about us chasing bunnies and disappearing forever? Who knows. Tee hee hee.
I decided to wade through the tall weeds. It made me feel like a real hunting beagle! Barooooo!
Look how happy I am! I have a smile from ear to floppy ear!
One last look at the lake before we head back up the trail to our campsite for a nappie.
We took a slightly different path back, and went past this really stiff guy holding up a stiff eagle. Momma said that's probably a statue of a Pawnee chief. He looked like he was carved right out of a tree! Momma wanted us to sit nicely in front of poppa for this picture, but as you can see, we had other ideas! We saw a Chihuahua and just HAD to watch him and let him know he had k-9 supporters in camp!
We came across this flagpole that had coneflowers and black-eyed-susans around it (That's what Momma called them). They were really purtty. They smelled good, too. We think someone peed there earlier.

Momma got this bright idea to take our picture in front of the flowers. Attempt #1: Bella is looking away, instead of at the camera. Notice I am posing very nicely and smiling. Cheeeeeze.
Attempt #2: I smile again, very cutely while Bella looks the OTHER way. NOT at the camera! Ughhh.
Attempt #3. For whatever reason, Bella decides to give me a KISS! Right when Momma tries to take the picture. Grrrrr. I'm getting irritated now. And its hard to keep smiling!
Attempt #4: Bella, doing a good job, FINALLY! But, MOMMA snapped the picture just when I blinked. Darn it, Momma!
5th Time's a charm. Aren't we too cute! Awwwww.
At last, back at the campsite. We all got a needed nap.
And, we had lots of cool stuff to dream about...
This is Petey. He lives with a friend of Poppas who came out to the campsite one day to see Poppa. Petey is old, like Lady. He didn't want to play. He just laid around while the hoomans talked about stuff. Petey's an okay guy.
After 4 days of camping, we were all pooped out. (Momma and Poppa picked it all up, though.) So we headed home. Bella wanted to navigate us home, so I let her take the helm next to Poppa. Here she is looking off into a corn field. Geez! This girl's got some learnin' to do!
I was happy to get home till we learned about Puppy Lewis' death. Then all our happiness kinda crashed. Poppa went to Grandma's that night and got Eddie & Lady and brought them home. We were so happy to see each other.

Love each other.

Peaches

Too Much Sadness Lately

There's just been too much sadness lately. We came home from camping this afternoon to learn that puppy Lewis has died.

He was struck by a car and killed after being let out the front door alone to potty while his family got ready to g
o somewhere. Just having a puppy brain, he didn't know to stay out of the street.

Momma is crying and we have to console her. We'll blog later.
Love to all,
Peaches
