NEW BABIES ARRIVE!

The new babies are here! Oh my gosh! Two girls and one boy. We're glad she didn't have too many, because we can only count to 4 using our paws. Me, Eddie, and Peaches knew something was up yesterday, because Bella didn't want her dinner, and she was fidgety and panting a lot and it wasn't even hot outside. Luckily, Mom had made a whelping area for her yesterday. She searched all over town for a store selling the hard, plastic kiddies wading pool. Then, she dug around in the garage for scraps of boards and 2 x 4s. Daddy was at work and couldn't help her. He felt so bad leaving all that to Mom.

The first one was born at 11:24 pm, then at 12:05 am, then 12:53 am. Bella is a very good Mommie. She licks her babies clean and keeps them gathered up close to her belly.

The babies don't even sound like dogs. We think Bella had little mice instead. They make little whimpers, grunts and whines. They don't even BARK! They came out all black, except 2 of them have white on their chests, and they all have white toes. Their little faces are smashed in, their ears are stuck on the side of their heads, and they won't open their eyes. They're really not much fun at all. I try to get close to get a better look, but Bella doesn't want me to. She grrrs till I get away. Peaches doesn't care. She's just worried about losing more of Mom & Dad's attention. Our old sister, Lady, was pacing last night while it was all going on. She was a worried new auntie. Enjoy the birthing pictures and have a great day.
